AssurIT assist Midlands Based Housing Agency with Business Recovery

The housing agency is a Midlands based charity that was established to tackle people with homelessness, poverty and housing difficulty problems by providing training, employability services, legal advice and homelessness prevention. The agency prides itself on providing timely information to its clients who often face homelessness and require fast turnaround of queries. Many of their clients may even have been made homeless on the day of their query.

The Agency had a major server and data systems outage for over 24 hours that substantially reduced their ability to do business or provide advice to their distressed clients. As the Charity realised the importance of their systems they appointed AssurIT to implement a remotely managed data and application back-up service that replicates to AssurIT's data centre in Coventry.

This new service provides a fully tested environment to ensure the Housing Agency can continue to provide its services to vulnerable people should a disaster occur.

Another Major UK Food Manufacturer signs up to AssurIT's Managed iSeries High Availability Service

AssurIT are pleased to announce that another UK company has signed a 3 year Managed High Availability agreement this month. The client had already invested heavily in it's own High Availability solution using Vision's Mimix software and a second iSeries system, however they did not have the experience or infrastructure in place to manage this effectively 24/7. AssurIT were ideally placed to provide a tailored monitoring and system roleswap management service with its proven track record alongside IBM through their joint SHARP offering.

Today AssurIT announces the acquisition of Apex.

The combination of the AssurIT managed services business, together with the Apex mid-market infrastructure business, creates a company, which will provide a breadth of services and support unique in the industry.

The new company will be rebranded under one name, APSU (APex and asSUrit).

AssurIT has been in the managed services business for over 20 years and, like Apex, has an extensive, long-standing and loyal customer base. This, together with the Apex name and reputation in the mid-range market place, will enable us to continue to provide a high level of exceptional support and service to our customers both current and future.

Along with the take-over we also announce the addition of a new member to the Board of Directors - Klaus Lovgreen.

Klaus founded AME info in 1993 and it became the leading provider of information in the Middle East; it was acquired by EMAP plc in July 2006. Following the sale of AME, Klaus became an Angel Investor and in 2009 he made TechCrunch's Top Angels list and in 2011 he was positioned at number 55 in the Telegraph's 100 most influential technology investors in Europe.

Klaus Lovgreen has made a substantial investment in the new entity and will be taking an active role in the on-going promotion and strategy of APSU.
